Still, as with anything you might buy online, the only way this is truly more convenient than driving to the nearest aquarium shop is if the process of selecting a delivery service--actually directing the stuff to your front door--is totally painless. AlgaeBarn gets this. And particularly in the case of live, perishable or delicate items, you certainly will want to be assured that your package will arrive undamaged and in a timely manner. AlgaeBarn gets this, too. Indeed, we believe that using our service should be as uncomplicated as possible. That’s why, to start off, we offer free shipping via USPS Priority Mail on all deliveries to addresses located inside the continental United States where the subtotal exceeds $40 (not including taxes or fees). This service tends to take 1-3 days for delivery, depending on locality. Of course, some items absolutely require overnight shipping (e.g. live fish/inverts, corals, clams, frozen foods) and thus are excluded from this option. Though we normally ship with USPS, certain orders may be shipped through FEDEX or UPS when we determine necessary. We offer a greatly discounted UPS 2nd Day Air Guaranteed option. Priced at only $7, this option is available for orders over $40 (again, before taxes/fees) and with delivery addresses within the continental United States (AK and PR excluded). As you may have guessed, some exceptionally bulky or fragile items (sumps, live rock, etc.) require special shipping/handling and thus are not eligible for this option. In most cases, we harvest and package your items on the same day we ship them; this practice ensures that you always receive the freshest product possible. Moreover, we ship your orders Monday through Wednesday to minimize the possibility of the package being delayed (and therefore held up) over the weekend. Nevertheless, if a shipping delay occurs for any reason, we still guarantee it--even if the delivery service is at fault!
