Each 16 oz portion of Tisbee Pods contains 3000+ LIVE Tisbe Copepods ranging from nauplii to adult sizes. Tisbee Pods are great for seeding new tanks and refugiums, boosting existing populations, and feeding finicky fish & inverts such as green mandarins, seahorses, anthias, wrasses, SPS, LPS & NPS corals and most other filter-feeding inverts. Our pods are 100% viable to reproduce in marine aquaria. We recommend using this product with our high-quality OceanMagik LIVE Phytoplankton Blend to establish and gutload the hugest, healthiest copepod populations right in your aquarium system.

These small copepods tend to inhabit the cracks and crevasses of live rock and macroalgae. Hiding helps them to maintain their population (i.e. avoid predation) in marine aquaria. Their nocturnal nature makes them a sustainable food source in your tank, while keeping your fish entertained and “on the hunt.” In addition to being a highly nutritious treat for your fish, they also add to your “Clean Up Crew” by consuming nuisance algae in your aquarium and refugium. Think of these guys as the smallest mouths in your food chain.
Tisbe is a harpacticoid copepod. Thus, as an adult, it lives on the seafloor. Because it spends most of its adult days crawling around on the rock, sand and glass surfaces, it feeds primarily on detritus and algal films. Juveniles, on the other hand, inhabit the open water column where they graze on phytoplankton. In captivity, their nutritional are satisfied with OceanMagik.
PLEASE NOTE: As a mixed-life stage live product, Tisbee Pods contains a range of juvenile to adult Tisbe copepods. Juvenile copepods are difficult-to-impossible to see with the naked eye upon arrival, but are ideal for establishing sustainable Tisbe biminiensis copepod populations; this is because livestock do not consume the miniscule larval copepods immediately after you add them into your tank!
