AlgaeBarn provides the aquarium industry with a wide variety of both live and shelf stable aquarium related products. AlgaeBarn distributes everything from live copepods, captive grown live fish, sustainably grown coral, and even top grade full glass reef aquarium setups! The difference in these items contribute to a variance in how they are dispatched, transported, and delivered.
AlgaeBarn has dedicated significant company resources and years of research to ensure our customers receive our products in the most effective distribution manner for both quality, speed of distribution, and cost.
To facilitate shipping expectations and enhance communication, AlgaeBarn may identify an estimated delivery date at checkout. Through the wide range of goods we sell, AlgaeBarn groups items into separate classes depending upon their shipping requirements in order to improve the distribution process.

Everything AlgaeBarn does is in dedication to the success of your aquarium and therefore when you purchases Live Feeds or Seeds you are also purchasing years of experience to ensure your product arrives in great condition. and we have invested significant amounts of attention into developing the best shipping methodologies in order to exceed your expectations and meet our standard. Our Feed & Seed products are distributed in a premium, curbside recyclable, insulated cooler with a disposable temperature regulation device, either a heat pack of various sizing or ice pack(s) depending on the location of the customer, season and weather conditions. We study distribution times, weather patterns, and associated costs prior to shipping your package.
These are small dry goods that easily fit in our insulated cooler. If it fits in that size packaging, we can ship it with the rest of your order. However, if your order only contains dry goods, we may opt to ship it via a ground service.
In order to best serve our customers and ensure our cultures arrive in the highest quality possible, AlgaeBarn ships on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. We do not ship on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or National or Company Holidays since the speed of the delivery and quality of your package is of utmost importance to us.

AlgaeBarn typically utilizes USPS Priority mail for promotional free shipping; however, we reserve the right to ship with another carrier and/or service in order to better serve our customer based on location, product, season and weather.
For customers who make purchases of $129 or more, AlgaeBarn will ship your products for free through a 2 day delivery service. AlgaeBarn will analyze and utilize on of our carriers based on location, product, season and weather to provide the best shipping outcome for your products.
Through our years of research, experience and dedication to providing your animals in their best state, AlgaeBarn ships all select Inverts with 2 day shipping. This helps ensure your aquatics arrive as healthy as possible. AlgaeBarn Live Feed and Seed - Express includes inverts include Trochus Snails, Sea Urchins, Cerith Snails and Peppermint Shrimp. We also include perishables that are more temperature stable. When purchasing any of these animals, your package will be delivered utilizing a 2 Day shipping method. If a customer spends above $129 AlgaeBarn will cover the costs of the 2 day shipping.
We ship Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays to ensure your products arrive fresh! We do not ship on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or National or Company Holidays.
For customers who make purchases of $99 or more, AlgaeBarn will ship your Live Feed and Seed - Express products for free through a 2 day delivery service. AlgaeBarn will analyze and utilize on of our carriers based on location, product, season and weather to provide the best shipping outcome for your products.
This includes, but is not limited to, sumps, dry rock, sand, skimmers, LEDs, salt, bulk bio-media, bulk reagents, and large filter pads. Due to the size, weight, and non-perishable status of these items, they are not suitable for shipping in our insulated coolers. For these reasons, they ship separately and typically ship via ground service.

AlgaeBarn's customers can select specific carriers and their associated methods at the following rates if they would like to utilize a specific carrier.
We will choose Freight trucking options for bulk items strapped and/or plastic wrapped to a wooden pallet or skid.
In most cases, the delivery process for these items involves:
Aquariums are the most common item that ships via this method. When purchasing an aquarium or when LTL is needed, AlgaeBarn will contact you (please expect a call from a 7 with you to coordinate delivery.
We ship LTL items typically on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and occasionally Fridays. We do not ship LTL freight on Saturday, Sunday, or Mondays. We do not ship on National or Company Holidays.
Due to the the special equipment required to deliver pallet sized to residential areas, AlgaeBarn partnered with multiple freight carriers across the country. It is important to have multiple carriers available to ensure we can meet the needs of your unique situation.
All items in the Pallet via Freight Truck shipping group ship without additional cost to most customers. We include residential curbside delivery, delivery notification, and lift gate. If you have a hard to navigate driveway such as gravel, high incline/steep, or a long driveway, please inform of us of in the order notes or as soon as possible to [email protected] Normal carriers may not be properly prepared and equipped for difficult to navigate driveways. This may result in failed delivery and additional fees could be assessed by the freight company.

All Marine Collectors Live Fish, Corals and Inverts are shipped directly from the Marine Collectors facilities via FEDEX Overnight service. For fish with a retail value over $1,000, you may be asked to pick them up at your local airport with an air cargo hub. They will typically be shipped via Delta cargo. This typically allows you to receive the fish the same day they are bagged and with the least amount of stress.
