Description
Biota Queensland Dwarf Goby (Eviota queenslandica)
The Queensland dwarf goby is a small captive-bred goby from Biota that is ideal for shallow and small reef tanks. Together with species of the genus Trimma, members of Eviota are sometimes referred to as pygmy gobies or dwarf gobies. dwarf gobies such as the Queensland dwarf goby are great candidates for a nano or even pico aquarium. In larger tanks, this species (unlike so many other gobioids, which tend towards intraspecific aggression) tolerate each others’ company and may form shoals when stocked in groups. Often found in small shoals in coral rubble, these gobies graze on detritus in aquariums as well as small crustaceans like copepods. The Queensland dwarf goby (especially when captive-bred) is quite easy to care for, as it adapts well to captive environments and readily accepts a wide variety of live and prepared aquarium foods.

Benefits of Aquacultured Marine Livestock
Aquacultured Queensland dwarf gobies offer significant advantages over wild-caught specimens. For example, when bred and raised under captive conditions, they adjust more easily to aquarium life. They are also much less likely to carry disease. Aquacultured specimens are more capable of tolerating shipping stress. Most notably, by purchasing farmed fish, you support the aquaculture of marine livestock and help to make our hobby more sustainable!
