ORA Silver Xenia
It is pretty hard to grow tired of watching the unusual movement of Xenia spp. corals as their feathery polyps carry out their characteristic “pulsing” motions. Aside from this unique positive attribute, members of this soft coral genus are very easily kept in aquaria. The ORA Silver Xenia strongly resembles the classic Pumping Xenia; however, it possesses some nice silvery highlights that radiate from the polyp center along the length of the tentacles. This highly distinguishing feature makes the individual polyps stand out from the rest of the colony, particularly while pulsing. For as inexpensive as this cool coral is overall, it is definitely worth a couple extra bucks to show off an example of this enhanced color pattern!
The ORA Silver Xenia can be placed at all tank heights under low-high light levels and moderate water flow.

The Benefits of Farmed Silver Xenia
Grown under captive conditions, captive-bred livestock offers several big advantages over its wild counterparts. It tends to be more disease resistant and harbors fewer pests. It is better capable of handling shipping/acclimation stress and therefore is specially adapted to living in an aquarium. By purchasing captive-bred Xenia, you support the aquaculture of marine organisms and help to make our hobby more sustainable!
