EcoPack Combo: A cornerstone diet for all reef aquaria
The EcoPack Live Food Combo features two premium live foods that are exponentially better together: EcoPods mixed-species copepods and OceanMagik phytoplankton blend. Together, these four pod species and four phyto species form a complete foundation for your captive ecosystem’s food pyramid. Running a diverse “mixed reef” system? Upgrade to the Ultimate Ecopack!
EcoPods:
EcoPods contains a mix of four copepods that are selected to occupy every ecologic niche in your system. This unique product completes your clean-crew crew as well as satisfying every finicky zooplanktivore (mandarin, seahorses, anthias, corals, etc.). All pods in the EcoPack are 100% viable and reproduce within a captive marine environment, living through their entire lifecycle in your aquarium.
Tigriopus californicus
Loaded with amino and omega-3 fatty acids, Tigriopus copepods make a nutritious meal for the pickiest fishes. These pods occasionally inhabit the water column and jerk around when they move, making them an easy target for your critters. Females can lay hundreds of eggs during their lifecycle. These harpacticoids contribute to your clean-up crew by consuming detritus and nuisance alga in your tank.
Tisbe biminiensis
Small and hardy, these harpacticoid copepods tend to inhabit the cracks and crevasses of live rock and macroalgae. Their secretive nature helps them to maintain lasting populations in marine aquaria. Like the above, Tisbe copepods add to your clean-up crew by consuming detritus, phytoplankton, and invasive algae in your aquarium; think of these guys as the smallest mouths in your food chain.
Apocyclops panamensis
Being slightly larger than Tisbe and slightly smaller than Tigriopus, these resilient copepods round out your tank’s zooplankton size range. Apocyclops is extremely nutritious with a very high amino acid and protein content. It reproduces quickly by laying eggs every 4-6 days–about twice the rate of Tisbe and Tigriopus! This cyclopoid spends much time in the water column, providing a continuous source of nutrition for seahorses, swallowtail angelfish, etc.
Oithona colcarva
This highly adaptable pod is a cyclopoid like Apocyclops but spends even more time in the water column. Oithona also feeds on smaller particles, consuming suspended items as minute as bacteria. Its nocturnal nature helps to prevent it from being completely decimated by hungry zooplanktivores.
OceanMagik:
OceanMagik is a unique blend of four live phytoplankton species that comes with the EcoPack combo, specifically selected to provide your corals, pods, and filter feeders with essential fatty acids, proteins, vitamins, amino acids and carotenoids. All phyto species in the EcoPack improve water quality by competing with nuisance algae for nutrients.
Nannochloropsis Gaditana
This tiny, fast-growing algae rapidly consumes several nitrogen waste compounds including ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates. As a result, Nano helps if you have an overfeeding problem, if you are adding a new critter to your tank or if you want to slightly reduce the frequency of water changes. Brown, non-flagellated, 1-5 microns.
Tetraselmis sp.
With a highly rich and varied amino/fatty acid profile, Tetraselmis provides a nutritionally comprehensive feed for your corals and zooplankton. Due to its highly nutritional makeup, Tet is commonly used in large aquaculture facilities. Green biflagellate, 6-10 microns.
Isochrysis Galbana
High in DHA content, Iso is frequently used to enrich zooplankton such as copepods and brine shrimp. Dosing your tank with Isochrysis boosts copepod levels. It also helps with the development, coloration, and resilience of your marine life. It is the most commonly used feed for bivalve mollusks such as oysters, clams, mussels, and scallops. Brown biflagellate, 10-14 microns.
Thalassiosira Weissflogii
Thalassiosira is the largest species of phytoplankton in the EcoPack Combo. As a beneficial planktonic diatom, it consumes silicates, restricting the growth of harmful benthic diatoms and dinoflagellates. Thal has also been shown to reduce cycle time in new systems! Unflagellated diatom, 5-32 microns.

Despite the weather delays I received my pods in a very timely manner. Great deal on the BOGO. The Ecopods came teeming with life and was very visible. Dumped both in and set the current to coral feeding time. I was able to witness the pods wriggling around the tank. A+ service and product.
